Committees
NCRI has established two committees: an Audit and Risk Committee, and an Advisory Council to support its organisational responsibilities and objectives.
Audit and Risk Committee
The Audit and Risk Committee is a formal subcommittee of the Board. It plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, transparency, and accountability of the organisation's operations. This committee is responsible for overseeing the financial reporting process, assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
In addition, it evaluates the risks associated with NCRI’s activities and implements strategies to mitigate those risks. This work includes systems established by management to identify, assess, manage and monitor key risks, both financial and operational, and taking account of the key objectives of the NCRI as contained in our strategic plan.
Advisory Council
The Advisory Council serves as a vital consultative body for NCRI, providing expert guidance and strategic direction to enhance its initiatives and operations. It is composed of a wide range of stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, researchers, and patient representatives.
The council offers insights on best practices, emerging trends, and policy developments in cancer care and research. Its role includes advising on NCRI’s priorities, promoting collaboration among various entities, and ensuring that NCRI's activities align with the needs of the stakeholders and public health objectives.
By leveraging the collective expertise of its members, the council helps to strengthen the impact of NCRI in producing excellent data insight for better cancer outcomes.
